Can I bring anybody to the Zoo using my membership?
Yes and No. The Individual Plus One membership allows the card carrier to bring one guest per visit. Part of any membership is the option to purchase additional guest passes. You may bring as many guests as you have guest passes. The No part of this answer is with FAMILY and GRANDPARENT memberships. Those memberships are intended for the use of two adults from the same household and the immediate family members 18 years old and younger. It is not intended to provide admission for friends, neighbors, out of town guests, distant relatives, etc.

Does the membership include step-children?
Yes. If your step-children are included as part of membership count, then they may also have the benefits of being a member.

How long is a membership good for?
A membership is valid for a period of one year (12 months) from the date of purchase.

How do I gain entry to the Zoo and Museum using my membership?
In order to use your Montgomery Zoo membership to gain entry to the Zoo/Museum for regular daytime admission (and qualified nighttime events, like Christmas Lights Festival), the specified, adult members listed on the membership must have their Montgomery Zoo-issued membership card along with a valid government-issued photo identification. If you have lost, misplaced, do not have, or have not received your membership cards, you must provide a valid government-issued photo identification to use your membership to gain entry to the Zoo/Museum for regular daytime admission (and qualified nighttime events, like Christmas Lights Festival).  No exceptions. If you have lost your membership card, please call (334) 625-4905 for a replacement card. Fees may apply. 

Can I use the membership at other Zoos?
Yes. There are a variety of zoos and aquariums located throughout the United States and Canada with reciprocating agreements. These facilities provide members with either FREE or DISCOUNTED admissions. See complete list.

What Zoo events can I get in for FREE?
All members have the benefit of receiving unlimited daytime admission; including admission to Zoo Weekend and Christmas Lights Festival. Members also receive discounted admissions to summer camp, winter camp, various education programs, and birthday party packages.  

What discounts do I get with my membership?
Members receive a 10% discount on Animal Adoptions, Brick Pavers, Summer Camp tuition, Gift Shop purchases, Zoo Concessions and Shelter Rentals at the Montgomery Zoo.

Can I make changes to my membership after I have already started using it?
Yes. Just contact the Zoo’s membership office at (334) 625-4905.  They will gladly take any inquiries concerning needed changes and/or upgrades to your membership. Please be aware that some changes may incur a fee and that some changes CANNOT be made due to membership policies. 

What happens if I lose my membership cards?
Replacement cards can be requested by contacting the Zoo’s membership office at (334) 625-4905. Please be aware there is a $10 replacement fee for lost cards. While you are waiting on your replacement membership cards, you may still visit the Zoo.  Please make sure to bring a valid, government-issued photo identification to the admissions office on the day of your visit and our staff will be happy to access your membership information and provide you entry to the Zoo. 

Can my membership be transferred to another Zoo if I move from the area?
No. You may feel free to use the reciprocating policy with other Zoos; however, we cannot transfer your membership with the Montgomery Zoo to another zoological facility.

Do you have a membership that includes the Museum?
Yes. Membership that allows you access to both the Montgomery Zoo and the Mann Wildlife Learning Museum.

Can I make a donation through my membership?
Yes. On the membership application, there is an area where you can make a donation to the Animal Fund and Capital Building Fund. Also, you may purchase one of our upper-level memberships (Chimpanzee, Zebra, Giraffe or Presidents Club) which afford you as a membership additional benefits while also contributing to the Zoo’s General Fund.

Can I purchase guest passes for friends and out of town guests?
Yes. You may purchase as many guest passes as you like. And the great thing about our guest passes is that they can be used by multiple guests during various visits. So, you may use the same guest pass many times. 

Can you tell me more about the guest pass policy and how the passes may be used?
Guest passes are NOT intended to be used for admission to any special event; including nighttime events.  No one will be able to use a GUEST PASS for admission to any special or nighttime event; only the people listed on the membership will be provided admission. Guest passes must be present for admission (one guest pass per entry). Entry/admission will not be allowed without the guest pass (one guest pass per entry) being present. 

Can I purchase a membership as a present for someone else?
Yes. It makes the perfect gift that keeps on giving throughout the year. Also, when you purchase a membership as a present for someone else, a gift certificate can be mailed or emailed along with the membership package recognizing the purchaser. When the person receiving the gift certificate is ready, they redeem the membership online at or in person at the Zoo.  

Where do the funds for my membership go?
As part of the Montgomery Zoo family you become part of a nationally recognized community. You are also afforded the certain benefits and privileges only bestowed our members. The Montgomery Zoo family is dedicated to the conservation of wildlife, family recreation and rewarding educational experiences. Your membership dollars help protect and preserve over 500 animals in the Montgomery Zoo collection and provide funds for conservation research and efforts locally and across the globe.
