Father's Day at the Zoo

Give Dad an Adventure Instead of a Tie This Year

Post Date:06/15/2018 5:41 PM
The Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum Gives Fathers Free Admission Sunday, June 17, 2018

Celebrate Dad and create lasting memories by spending quality time exploring the world and learning about the more than 500 species of animals that call the Montgomery Zoo home.

All dads will receive free admission to the Zoo and Wildlife Museum on Sunday, June 17, 2018. For a small additional cost, families can ride the train, Zoofari Skylift or take a pedal boat ride around Crystal Lake. You can also add some hands-on adventure to your visit by feeding the giraffes, parakeets, petting zoo animals and the stingrays for a small fee.

Families are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy time with family and friends at one of our shelters or grassy areas, we just ask that you do not bring anything with a straw or cups with plastic lids for the safety of the animals. Or let the Overlook Café do the cooking for you. Menu favorites include hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers, wraps, salads and other snacks that can be enjoyed in the casual open-air dining area overlooking the Africa and North America realms of the zoo. Cool off on your way home by grabbing one of the River Region’s newest favorite treats, Frio’s Pops, on sale in the Main Gate Gift Shop.

Several of the Zoo’s largest animals will be featured during insightful keeper talks at the African Lion exhibit at 1:30 pm and the African Elephant exhibit at 2:30 pm.

Guests can beat the afternoon heat touring The Mann Wildlife Learning Museum. This extensive and impressive indoor museum is home to one of the Southeast’s largest collections of preserved North American wildlife.
