Zoo Weekend

JOIN US FOR THE MONTGOMERY ZOO’S ZOO WEEKEND, APRIL 6-7, 9:00am - 6:00pm daily.  Mark your calendar today to make plans to join us for this fun-filled, family event at the Zoo.  The Zoo and Museum are transformed into a festival-like environment complete with games, enflatable slides and bouncy houses, horse trail rides, giraffe encounter, live animal presentations, zookeeper talks, a variety of food, drinks and snacks, live entertainment and much more. 

NEW FOR ZOO WEEKEND 2013: See, touch, feel and feed LIVE stingrays and nerf sharks in our temporary stingray pool.  This temporary stingray pool will give guests an opportunity to experience touching and feeding Cownose, Atlantic and Southern Stingrays, as well as, a collection of nerf sharks.  This temporary pool is located in our South American realm across from the flamingos.  Also, new for ZOO WEEKEND 2013 is our Zoofari Skylift ride.  Ride over the animals and trees as you glide over Parakeet Cove, our Asian and African hoofstock collection, the Giraffes, Cheetahs and out to the lakefront.  Then you return back to home base.  This 15 minute ride provides an array of awesome sights for any zoo visitor. 

Zoo Weekend is an annual fundraiser for the Zoo and Museum.  Funds from this event go directly into the general fund allowing the Zoo to continue to grow and expand.  This year's proceeds will be contributed to the future Stingray Bay exhibit.  Future projects include the new Alligator exhibit and Butterfly House.  This weekend is also a huge membership drive for the Zoo.  This is an excellent time to renew your membership or become a new one.  Join us April 6-7.

ZOO WEEKEND ADMISSION and HOURS OF OPERATION.  Zoo Weekend is open 9:00am – 6:00pm. Zoo only admission is: Adults $12, Children (3-12yrs) $8, Toddlers (2yrs and younger) FREE.  Montgomery Zoo members are FREE.  Special discounted admission to the Mann Museum: $3 per person (Zoo Weekend only).  Horse/Pony Trail Rides: $5 per person.  Zoofari Skylift ride: $4 per person. Train ride: $3 per person. Giraffe Encounter: $2 per person. Pedal Boats: $8 for the first person, $10 for two, $12 for three and $14 for four; maximum of four passengers per boat, 30 minute ride.
