JOIN US AT THE MONTGOMERY ZOO FOR THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS FESTIVAL, DECEMBER 5-8, 12-15 and 19-31, 2013, 5:30pm - 9:30pm nightly. A River Region tradition for over 20 years, the Montgomery Zoo's Christmas Lights Festival is part of Christmas in Central Alabama. See the Zoo transformed into a Winter Wonderland sparkling with thousands of festive lights and decorations. Stroll the many pathways or enjoy a brisk ride on the Santaland Express train ride.
No Christmas Lights Festival experience would be complete without a visit with Santa. Santa appears nightly through Dec 23 when he must leave to deliver presents to all the children around the world. The Zoo also has a Santa Craftshop where you can make last minute gifts for that someone special. Enjoy live entertainment nightly at the Overlook Cafe. Take a ride on a Haflinger horse at the Horse Trail Rides. And don't forget to check out all the snacks and treats at the Overlook Cafe...mmmmmm, hot chocolate.
CRAFTS AND RIDES: Climb aboard the Zoofari Skylift and view the sparkling lights from above the Zoo. See thousands of holiday lights as you soar across the Zoo's horizon. Skylift ride: $4 per person. Also, enjoy visiting hundreds of feathered friends in Parakeet Cove. Grab a feed stick and watch as the birds flock to you. Feed sticks are $2. And while you are there build a craft for someone special.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS FESTIVAL ADMISSION: $12 for ages 3 years and older. Admission includes your Christmas Light train ride. FREE for ages 2 years and younger and Montgomery Zoo members. Combo deal: $16 for ages 3 years and older. Visit the Zoo in the afternoon then stick around and enjoy the Christmas Lights Festival. Admission includes your Christmas Light train ride.
